Our vision is simple to provide growers with high-quality planting material, beautiful ornamental plants, and vibrant cut flowers that bring life, colour, and beauty to every environment they touch. We work with trusted international breeding and plant companies to bring promising varieties and quality genetics to the Indian market, while combining global knowledge with our understanding of Indian growing conditions. From the first root to the final bloom, every step matters. Because when nature is at the heart of what we do, excellence becomes the way we grow.
Sri Flora is built on a legacy of agricultural experience, entrepreneurial vision, and a deep understanding of plants. Our journey began with our founder Dr. H. K. Srikanta, an agricultural graduate who started with a humble nursery focused on producing quality grafted mango plants. What began as a small venture soon grew through a simple principle that continues to guide us today — quality creates trust, and trust creates growth.
As the nursery gained recognition, Dr. Srikanta ventured into the seed industry and established Cee Kay Seeds & Seedlings, supplying quality vegetable seeds to farmers across India. The company's emphasis on quality and innovation led to a collaboration with Daenfeldt, Denmark, to establish an R&D unit, with the resulting seed material eventually being exported to European markets.
With a growing understanding of crops, cultivation and protected agriculture, the journey naturally expanded into cut flowers. Greenhouses were established to cultivate vibrant, high-quality flowers for the Indian market, further strengthening the family's expertise in modern floriculture and protected cultivation.
In 2019, after completing his Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Varun Gowda, Dr. Srikanta's son, joined his father to take the journey forward. Together, they established a plant production unit with a clear focus on high-quality young plants and dependable, timely supply. Their combined experience in agriculture, propagation and commercial cultivation created the foundation for the next phase of growth.
The changing landscape of horticulture after COVID-19 revealed an emerging opportunity in ornamental plants. With increasing interest in plants and green spaces, the vision evolved beyond supplying growers to creating a larger ecosystem of quality ornamental plants for plant lovers across South India.
Today, that vision is taking another step forward. Building on years of practical experience and a pilot tissue culture project that has been developed over the past four years, Sri Flora is now moving towards establishing a dedicated tissue culture laboratory at its farm. From a humble mango nursery to seeds, from flowers to young plants, and now towards tissue culture and ornamentals — Sri Flora continues to grow by combining experience with innovation.
